SAPA Transmission in its growth in the US is looking for a Test Engineer to test fully automatic transmissions for the US Army tracked vehicles in our Cross-Drive dynamometer.
You as a Test Engineer will join our Engineering Department and will be responsible for supporting all activities within the Testing department and run testing procedures for different type of transmission to ensure the quality, functionality, reliability and performance.
Responsibilities :
- Execute and supervise test plans in transmission-dyno and at the proving grounds for automatic transmissions.
- Inspect transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
- Maintain and utilize computer software programs for test data acquisition.
- Maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and control systems for test cell operation.
- Coordinate Dyno Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks.
- Supervise mechanics & technicians during the installation, operation, and maintenance of transmissions and test equipment in the test cell.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- 5+ years of experience with dynamometers for testing engines or transmissions. Experience with AVL Dynos is a plus.
- Knowledge of data acquisition systems - hardware / software (Dewesoft is a plus).
- Knowledge of heat exchangers, cooling and fuel systems.
- Good understanding of engines and transmissions operation.
- Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork and cooperation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers.
- Availability for traveling occasionally.
