JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist, implements progressive rehabilitation programs for patients in their homes in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and the patient’s needs.
- Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the agency.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
- Constant : reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm / hand motion and frequent gripping of objects, lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, pushing / pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force
- Frequent : standing, walking, stooping / bending, and twisting body.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
Subjected to adverse environmental conditions like continuous exposure to blood borne pathogens.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- Current Hawaii State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Valid U.S driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance as required by Hawaii State Law.
- Driver’s abstract or evidence of good driving record.
- Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE :
- Knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice to treat patients.
- Knowledge and use of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and the public.
- Ability to operate various office equipment such as computers, calculator, copier facsimile, and shredder.
- Skills in problem identification and resolution.
