Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for coordinating payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate payroll with vendor for employees on a regular schedule
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Maintain payroll records and documentation
- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management
- Stay up-to-date on payroll best practices and regulatory requirements
- Assist with payroll-related projects and process improvements
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations
- Be the point of contact and escalation person with our Payroll vendor
- Manage the company payroll inbox and respond to requests, questions and any other issues within a timely manner
- Complete / coordinate garnishment orders with payroll vendor
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 6-8 years of work experience including multi state payroll Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience managing payroll systems with technical expertise (ie knowledge of taxation rules, wage codes, etc.)
- Experience handling payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- High attention to detail and ability to operate with autonomy in fast paced environment
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficiency in payroll software (we utilize SAP and a software called Employee Central / Employee Central Payroll) and MS Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Experience processing equity awards (such as RSUs, stock options, etc.)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally
- Proven track record of problem solving
- Motivated and driven to grow within the organization
