Job Description
The Rendering Plant Operations Manager will manage operations including production, maintenance, environmental, health & safety, and quality control in an efficient manner while attaining organizational goals.
Responsibilities & Duties
This role is a hands-on position that requires direct involvement in operational issues on an on-going basis.
- Maintain an efficient, safe, and cost-effective truck fleet and ancillary operations.
- Plan and execute process improvements and oversee all supervisors, purchasing, maintenance, logistics, and dispatching.
- Develop supervisory and non-supervisory personnel through training and continuing skills development.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, Environmental, HACCP and Rendering Code of Practice.
- Prepare and review periodic operational and financial data and implement necessary process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and protocols for products and shipments.
- Assist with customer relations, customer retention and business growth.
Any other tasks necessary for the proper execution of duties and responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED. Some trade school or college courses preferred in general management, logistics or trades.
- Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in a business-to-business service or fleet intense operation.
- Rendering, sanitation, wholesale delivery or other agricultural industry preferred.
- Motivated self-starter that can work well with all levels of an organization.
- Experience with Excel, Word and other general office programs.
- Highly organized with an attention to detail.
