As the Globe RI Marketing Manager (full time, temporary position at The Boston Globe), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our brand and consumer marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement and conversion, and foster brand loyalty within these markets.
You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement innovative marketing initiatives for these sub-brands.
The ideal candidate is a driven, collaborative, and results-oriented individual with an interest in all aspects of marketing.
The Globe Rhode Island's mission is for our expert coverage to become an essential part of the lives of every resident in these states, and this role plays a key part in achieving that goal.
We need an entrepreneurial individual that has experience in brand, consumer, and digital marketing across mediums. The right person will be excited to think creatively about how to leverage our top-notch news coverage and content to find and engage new readers by driving trial, subscription and engagement.
This ideal candidate will be excited to act as an ambassador for this growth within the company.
Responsibilities :
- Self-motivated and experienced in developing and executing comprehensive brand and consumer marketing strategies specific to awareness, acquisition, engagement, and retention with varied business goals to strengthen positioning and drive brand equity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including newsroom, product, sales, and creative, to align brand strategies with overall business objectives.
- Oversee our presence in growth markets, partnering with market research and conducting analysis to identify opportunities for expansion and growth.
- Manage brand campaigns from conception to execution, ensuring seamless integration across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of brand marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions for optimization.
- Stay informed about market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and potential threats to the brand.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the brand marketing team, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new ideas.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in brand and consumer marketing (including awareness, engagement, acquisition, retention), with a proven track record of developing and executing successful brand strategies and growth in key markets.
- Experience leading multiple cross-functional projects successfully in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of growth markets and experience in expanding brand presence in diverse geographic regions.
- Passion for exploring innovative ways to reach and engage new consumers.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional organization and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in News Media Industry, a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities and a creative thinker with a strategic mindset and a passion for storytelling.
- Skilled in both building presentations and presenting to senior leadership.
- A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
This newly created position is a 6-month, full-time, temporary position and will report to the Senior Director of Marketing.
This individual is a critical liaison between the Boston office and the Rhode Island bureau. The goal is to bring the strength of the Globe brand to Rhode Island readers.
The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines.
For this role, we will consider candidates who are based in / near Boston or Rhode Island.
