Job Description
The purpose of the Machine Operator is to support the production department in running and maintaining the equipment. Under supervision, works as a line operator responsible for operating and adjusting all the equipment associated with the operation.
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing various process failures and equipment breakdowns, utilizing various hand and powers tools.
Duties :
- Operate / maintain all pieces of equipment
- Startup / shut down all equipment and able to perform changeovers if required
- Able to perform basic PM’s such as bearing and chain lubrication, inspection of components for wear, etc. and resolve minor problems to keep machine running
- Must be able to gather quality data and report issues to supervisor
- Must understand how to read the production schedule
- Work closely with other departments (process, maintenance, shipping, planning, etc.) to ensure all issues impacting production are communicated and resolved
- Utilize hand and / or power tools, follow service manuals, diagrams, or blue prints to replace worn or defective parts.
- Make appropriate contacts with management to communicate any major issues during the shift
- Perform effectively under stressful conditions, prioritizing job duties.
Required Experience / Skills :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work occasional overtime shifts
- Ability to work with specified deadlines related to the department.
- Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly (oral or written) with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to complete all required safety and training courses
