Please help us make a difference by serving individuals in Albany County with behavioral health challenges as a Mental Health Clinician II (LMSW, LMHC).
A Mental Health Clinician II, may assist with management / coordination of care for complex / high need patients, coordination of meetings, scheduling of staff as well as the collection and analysis of relevant clinical data.
In this role they may be designated as shift / team leader or assistant shift / team leader in overseeing the non-supervisory responsibilities including, but not limited to, scheduling of staff as well as oversight of the clinical operations and case consultation in the absence of the supervisor.
Additionally, they will assist with the intake and screening of new patients, evaluation and diagnostic impressions and the development and collaboration around treatment planning.
This position will carry a caseload of individuals with behavioral health challenges in order to provide services to help patients recover from their disabilities and barriers within their social environment;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
OPEN-COMPETITIVE : EITHER
- Possession of NY State certification as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) AND one (1) year of professional experience in social work in a community mental health program; OR
- Possession of NY State certification as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) AND three (3) years of experience providing services to persons with behavioral health issues post master’s degree.
PROMOTIONAL : EITHER :
Six (6) months of permanent competitive class status as either a Staff Social Worker or Staff Social Worker (LCSW); OR Licensed Mental Health Clinician
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT :
- If qualifying under A. above with an LMSW (open-competitive) or as a Staff Social Worker (promo), must possess certification as an LCSW within three (3) years of appointment and throughout employment thereafter.
- At time of appointment and throughout employment, successful clearance of criminal background check facilitated through New York State Office of Mental Health.
- At time of appointment and throughout employment, successful clearance from the State Central Registry in the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Background investigations are conducted by the appointing authority).
- At time of appointment and throughout employment, possession of a valid New York State driver’s license.
