Silverchair is looking for an Associate Analytics Developer, with a focus on Microsoft technologies, to join our data analytics team.
The ideal candidate should be able to read and write SQL, be willing to learn data warehousing principles, and be eager to work in a dynamic environment with varied analytical requirements serving different client streams.
Essential Functions :
- Data Pipeline Contributor : Contribute to the maintenance and troubleshooting of data pipelines using Pentaho / SQL and Azure Data Factory.
- Performance Support : Assist in monitoring and improving data solutions performance, including SQL Server and Azure Synapse workloads.
- COUNTER Compliance Assistance : Aid in feature development for COUNTER industry compliance and reporting under senior guidance.
- Data Quality Support : Assist in maintaining data quality in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Business Intelligence Reporting : Help develop customer-facing reports that deliver insights, from standardized to client-customizable formats.
- Team Collaboration : Engage in knowledge sharing and strive to develop new skills within the team in a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Role Flexibility : Show eagerness to take on data analysis tasks as required, displaying adaptability and a willingness to expand one's skill set.
Required Skills :
- Ability to read and write SQL, including queries and stored procedures.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn troubleshooting and performance optimization for SQL queries.
- Exposure or willingness to learn database model design.
- Interest in data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Analytical mindset to understand and interpret data.
- Exposure to object-oriented programming.
- Awareness of agile software development methodologies.
- Problem-solving capabilities.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Desired Experience :
- 1-2 years of experience in SQL development, preferably in SQL Server / T-SQL.
- 1-2 years of experience in C# development, web development preferred.
- Interest in developing skills in data warehousing solutions.
- Interest in and some exposure to performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases.
- Some experience or academic background in data solutions design and delivery.
- Interest in developing skills in data warehousing solutions.
- Willingness to learn and work with Azure cloud services.
- Experience or coursework involving gigabyte-scale or larger datasets is a plus.
- Agile / Scrum proficiency.
- Experience in the publishing industry is not required but could be beneficial.
- Interest in learning about data governance and data security protocols.
- Power BI semantic modeling, including management via XMLA is a plus.
