Job Overview :
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Payroll & HRIS Manager for a Direct Hire position with our client in Dallas, TX .
Reporting directly to the VP of HR , this role will handle all aspects of payroll processing for 1,400 employees across multiple entities, including both US and Canada payrolls .
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now , experience with multi-state payroll , and a strong background in HRIS implementation and integration , particularly in mergers and acquisitions .
This role is both strategic and hands-on, with a focus on maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee day-to-day management of the payroll function for the organization, ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations across US and Canada .
- Document all payroll procedures, interfaces, and audits as needed.
- Monitor ADP Workforce Now for accurate payroll tax payments and compliance.
- Research and respond to payroll tax notices and issues.
- Manage the preparation of annual W-2s, tax filings , and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal IT and external consultants to maintain system requirements for payroll and timekeeping applications.
- Oversee tasks associated with the companys 401(k) plan administration.
- Ensure accuracy of payments for overtime, bonuses, commissions, PTO , and termination pay.
- Manage the garnishment process across all locations.
- Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policies , GAAP , and federal, state, and IRS regulations .
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage the payroll team effectively.
Qualifications :
- 7+ years of payroll experience (US & Canada).
- 4+ years' payroll management experience .
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in multi-state and multi-entity payroll processing .
- Experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees .
- Canada payroll processing experience is a must .
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
- Strong expertise with ADP Workforce Now is required.
- Experience with HRIS implementation and maintenance .
- Proven track record in mergers and acquisitions integration.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule (Onsite : Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; Remote : Wednesday, Friday).
