TA Superintendent Maintenance

Position Summary :
The Superintendent, TA Maintenance provides leadership for all refinery turnaround (TA) activities, both major and minor, in collaboration with the Turnaround & Capital Construction Manager.
This role is essential to ensuring smooth operations during planned maintenance and repair cycles and involves overseeing cross-functional teams, contractors, budgeting, and scheduling to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the planning and execution of refinery turnarounds (TA), managing both major and minor events.
- Develop TA scope in collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensure all justification reviews are completed.
- Establish critical path management plans, track milestones, and ensure project timelines are met.
- Manage contractors and ensure materials are available by coordinating with material coordinators.
- Chair TA planning and steering committee meetings to align all team members.
- Coordinate with operations to establish shutdown and startup plans.
- Develop budget estimates, bid packages, and implement contracts for TA activities.
- Identify and address major project issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruptions.
- Oversee scope management, ensuring that growth in TA requirements is managed effectively.
- Provide leadership in all TA-related tasks, from material procurement to contractor management.
- Ensure compliance with established safety and operational procedures throughout the TA process.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with + years of experience in refinery / petrochemical maintenance project management.
Alternatively, + years of equivalent experience without a degree.
- years of supervisory or process management experience in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in project controls and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Project Management certification is a plus.
- Must be available for / call-ins, and able to work rotating shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and external contractors.
