We are seeking applicants for Safety Lead Person position in our Miami Container, FL facility located at 3500 NW 110th Street, Miami, FL 33167.

SUMMARY :
The Safety Lead Person's role is to promote the safety program to the highest level. Using extensive knowledge of OSHA Standards and State and Local Regulations, the Safety Lead Person will conduct safety audits, address any immediate hazards, guide the teams, and be proactive in safety programming and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and implementing safety training programs for all the machine positions on all shifts.
- Conducts regular safety audits at the plant to verify compliance and identify unsafe conditions.
- Coordinates action plan to resolve audit findings.
- Maintains documentation necessary to comply with the Safety Management Plan, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Works with plant management to enforce safety policies and procedures that help prevent accidents.
- Make recommendations and assist in planning, methods and machinery, safety programs and standards.
- Maintain excellent working conditions, a safe work environment, and high morale within the plant.
- Keep the Production Manager informed regarding problems or situations that may affect the overall production operation of the plant.
- Investigate incidents and monitor medical care. Represents the site in incident investigations and complaints and recommends measures to management to prevent reoccurrences.
- Complete and maintain all paperwork with regard to work-related incidents.
- Prepare legal notices, postings, and reports as required by government and regulatory bodies.
- Interacts with OSHA and their regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, site visits, and audits.
- Document safety training.
- Assist in conducting (leading) safety inspections, meetings, and training programs.
- Follow all SOP's in production for Safety, Quality and manufacturing process.
- Conduct new-hire safety orientation program.
- Organizes and conducts safety meetings and safety training at all levels of the organization.
- Interacts and communicates with vendors, contractors and subcontractor safety personnel.
- Be available to operate the machines when needed.
- Able to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 2 -3 years of work experience as an Environmental Health and / or Industrial Safety.
- Must have experience conducting safety audits within heavy manufacturing sites.
- Must have experience in assisting in workers' compensation claims process.
- Corrugated industry experience.
- Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to sit, stoop climb and bend.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

- Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
- Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
