Lab IT Consultant

Responsibilities :

• Looking for a Lab IT Systems consultant to work out of client office in Huntsville, Alabama.
• The Lab IT Systems consultant will work with IT Labs support team.
• support lab owners to plan and implement new lab instrument / system implementations in compliance with the appropriate regulatory standards. (GxP / CFR Part ).
• Follows best practices within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry.
• This individual also collaborates closely with lab owners, IT Compliance (when required) and IT Infrastructure, Facilities and vendors to implement lab systems and applications in accordance with SOPs, and support day to day requests from the Lab users.
• Supports Lab Applications such as Empower, Agilent Neogenesis, ELN, Dogmatics, LIMS Lab Instruments / Equipment (Ex. Mass Spec, HPLC,.

and other similar applications, coordinating downtimes for project related upgrades, updates, and configurations.

• Provides technical expertise for the support of existing systems, escalating and coordinating resolution with the vendor when required.
• Implementation of the computer requirements in conjunction with lab system vendors when those computer requirements are limited to a networked PC.
• Assists with solutions identification, evaluation, selection, implementation, testing, and working with the IT technical delivery team(s) to meet and exceed business requirements.
• Setup the PCs, for the instruments, connecting them with instruments and work with vendors to complete the software installation on the PCs.
• Working with networking team to resolve any port issues, network issues.
• Trouble shoot any desktop issues, if needed involve desktop team to resolve the issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

• A minimum of years related work experience is required with practical work experience as a Lab Specialist in a life sciences organization.
• Strong core IT background with a focus in PC / lab instrument integration accompanied with knowledge of GxP laboratory information systems.
• Experience in Infrastructure, Desktops and network switches, server hardware, and data centers.
• Knowledge of the validation lifecycle of lab GxP computerized systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve problems and ability to effectively apply a broad range of professional concepts, practices and methods in moderately complex and diverse circumstances are required.
• Experience in setting up the PCs, connecting them with the instruments, trouble shooting of network and port issues.
• Experience in installing software on the PCs and connecting with instruments and testing.
• Good communication skills. Must be able to work independently and efficiently on several tasks at once.
