An excellent multi-disciplinary MEP engineering firm in the Albany, NY area is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to the organization for a full-time permanent staff opportunity.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers assisting in designing electrical systems on a variety of projects.
EIT or PE level applicants will be considered, with duties and compensation commensurate with experience.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality electrical system design and construction documentation across various commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Sample Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls for assigned projects.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and other project team members as needed to support project design.
- Electrical load calculations.
- Site surveying visiting existing buildings to evaluate existing conditions.
- Construction Administration visiting projects under construction to verify work is being completed per design specifications.
- Manage multiple projects through design until completion of construction.
- Coordinate with design team professionals of other disciplines as they perform their designs to ensure proper coordination on construction documents.
- Research and apply applicable codes to design.
- Perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design documents.
- Prepare concept, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Conduct code research and incorporate applicable requirements into the design.
- Preparation of design drawings, specifications, and control sequences of operation.
- During project construction, conduct submittal reviews, make construction site visits, and observe system start-ups.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar.
- Three (3) or more years of related engineering experience.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
- Strong people skills maintaining professional client relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
