Job Description Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director, Clinical Manager, Preceptor, and Charge Nurse, responsible for providing patient care and assigned procedures for assigned patients.
Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Performs direct and indirect patient care responsibilities as assigned by charge nurse and / or preceptor.
- Ensures patient safety.
- Performs responsibilities as related to the safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
- Documents delivery of patient care and other pertinent information in patients’ medical record and updates plan of care for assigned patients as necessary.
- Communicates information regarding patients and unit operations to RN, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Director, and other shifts in a timely manner using proper lines of communication.
- Communicates effectively with other departments with personnel from other departments in the hospital using proper lines of communication.
- Performs and documents secondary assessment on patients in Med / Surg, Progressive Care, Post Acute, and Skilled Nursing only.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

EDUCATION :
Official transcript denoting graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION :
BLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period, and certification must be kept current while in this position.
EXPERIENCE :
Successful completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Knowledge and skills as normally acquired through the successful completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
