APPRENTICE ROOFER-KURS

Qualified apprentice is an installer of all certified manufacture roof systems. Employee is enrolled in an apprenticeship program through Roofers Local 81 as recognized by the Department of Industrial Relations.

This will be achieved by performing the following duties.

Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Works as directed in a safe and efficient manner per industry standards and regulations.
• Meets with journeymen to go over specific job requirements.
• Has a general understanding of the roofing system, including details, application and processes.
• Communicates effectively with Foreman, and assists as directed.
• Ensures proper care when in the use of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

• Education and / or Experience : Must have experience installing roofing systems and siding.
• Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Mathematical Skills : Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
