Summary :
The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for designing and implementing robust manufacturing processes, equipment, and personnel.
Drive operational excellence through efficient product line design. Ensure continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and production.
Oversee all engineering projects and processes up to production release, and mentor the engineering team.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the Process Engineering Team in developing strong, capable processes
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for semiconductor manufacturing and train engineering staff on best practices in die attach, wire bond, flip chip, SMT, and seal processes
- Ensure that process standards, procedures, and specifications are established for all manufacturing assets
- Develop and manage process engineering initiatives for project introduction and implementation
- Evaluate each Quality Control Inspection (QCI) failure and enhance manufacturing capabilities to eliminate these failures
- Manage new product development using Gantt charts to ensure projects are executed within required time frames
- Ensure the team actively supports the daily sustainment of legacy products by monitoring material and labor variance reports
- Track and post metrics showcasing the team’s performance
- Continuously evaluate processes to ensure they are high yielding
- Foster strong team values and cooperation within the department
- Collaborate to help achieve high On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Quality scores with customers
- Resolve problems by implementing innovative techniques, technologies, or concepts
- Analyze technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects
- Collaborate with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products
- Advise management on new developments that may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and inter-departmental relations
- Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures for engineering activities
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and best practices
- Experience with project management tools, such as Gantt charts
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Proficiency in developing and implementing robust manufacturing processes
- Expertise in die attach, wire bond, flip chip, SMT, and seal processes
- Strong understanding of process standards, procedures, and specifications
- Ability to evaluate and improve manufacturing capabilities
