Employment Application for IT Operations Specialist

As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for :

• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation as it related to technology assets and configuration(s).
• Create project plans, design and implement solutions.
• Evaluate, create, request and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing technology products via quote procedure.
• Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting and on-call availability as needed.
• IT system administration duties including : hardware installations, System / Application installations, patch management, incident resolution, log analysis, etc.
• Configure, test, and maintain networking equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.
• Identify. Diagnose and resolve network problems including : network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
• Provide Infrastructure services such as storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization, system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration.
• Provide technical support to front-line support technicians.
• Assist with monthly reports and recommendations for clients.
• Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
• Utilize superior customer service skills.
• Stay current with technology offerings, information, changes and updates.

Basic Qualifications :

• Eight years of prior IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.
• Demonstrated written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations.
• Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Proven background of providing great customer service.
• Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems.
• Ability to work independently, prioritizes existing projects, and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion.
• Works effectively both as a team member and independently.
• Effectively utilizes tools to resolve issues and escalates appropriately.
• Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience are a must.
• Hands on experience with all forms of common networking, workstation and server virtualization solutions, cybersecurity, backup systems and line of business applications.

Other Qualifications :

• Appropriate vendor certifications are a preferred (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, HP, EC-Council, etc.)
• BS in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science Degree a plus.

Pay Rate : Averages $70K-$125K
