The University of Connecticut School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine is seeking new or mid-career Board Certified Family Physician educators (Assistant / Associate Professors) for several positions within the expanding Department.
The Department has two locations : the residency / faculty practice based in Hartford CT and a growing full spectrum family medicine practice in Canton CT.
The Department seeks a full scope academic family medicine physician with OB experience who will provide teaching, evaluation and administration for residents and medical students.
The full-scope family medicine physician will care for both ambulatory, hospitalized and obstetric patients. Full-time commitment includes night call and weekend rounding on a shared rotation.
The residency program is an accredited 7 / 7 / 7 Family Medicine Residency Program based in Hartford. Ambulatory practices are based at the Family Medicine Center at Asylum Hill in Hartford, and in Canton, CT.
Inpatient service is at Trinity Health Of New England-St. Francis Hospital for the Hartford practice. The Canton practice admits to John Dempsey Hospital on the UConn Health campus.
UConn Health (and John Dempsey Hospital) is located in Farmington mid-way between New York City and Boston and within commuting distance of New Haven.
UConn Health is a growing organization composed of the schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine; Graduate Programs in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, and Clinical and Translational Research.
Trinity Health of New England-St. Francis Hospital is located in the west-end of Hartford. The Family Medicine Center at Asylum Hill is directly across the street from the hospital.
The residency program has been a part of the fabric of Hartford for more than 30 years with an on-going mission to serve the underserved of the city.
The Farmington Valley is a wonderful place to raise a family and has many outstanding schools and neighborhoods. The area was recently named one of the "10 Best Places To Live" in the United States by Kiplinger's magazine.
Position requirements : or Board Eligible or Certified in Family Medicine with a license to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and congruent with AAMC Faculty Salary table guidelines.
