Systems / Network Administrator (Mfg. Facility)
Location : Charleston, SC
A North American leader in their manufacturing niche is in search of an experienced Systems / Network Administrator for our two plants.
The role requires an on-site presence in the Charleston, SC manufacturing facility.Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will manage and maintain the IT infrastructure required to support manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer physical and virtual servers in the plant operations environment, including Windows servers running on VMWare.
- Manage the Active Directory domains and backup and recovery in a plant operations environment.
- Work with Information Security team to ensure plant operations environment is protected from intrusion, disruption, or data loss.
- Administer Thin Manager & Thin Client Systems, physical operator stations and standalone PC’s.
- Work closely with plant engineering and electrical teams to implement necessary changes in the environment while closely following the engineering and IT change management process.
- Liaison with outside vendors, as needed, to troubleshoot and correct issues.
- Partner with the IT Infrastructure team to establish network specifications as well as provide resources for the Service Desk in resolving network and systems-related issues.
- Mentor and train IT teammates in systems administration and troubleshooting tasks, as well as cross train on infrastructure technologies to ensure continuity of service.
- Accomplish organizational goals and explore opportunities to continuously improve the Operational Technology environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of IT experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of plant operations communication systems (i.e. SCADA Systems, PLC’s, HMI devices) is preferred, as well as a working knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
- Service Desk level 2-3 capable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis.
- Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment with limited direction.
- Systems thinker, ability to link Company strategy and job contribution to Company objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate commitment to zero incident safety culture, teammate engagement and continuous improvement while practicing company’s Target Behaviors.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus switches, Siemens Industrial network equipment, VSAN, VMWare 7, Veeam and Fortigate firewalls is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, if necessary.
