Track Maintenance Equipment Operator/Driver

SUMMARY

Maintains and repairs track under all conditions and takes care of track equipment by performing the following duties. This position may work nights and weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains the track in optimal conditions. Harrows, rolls, and floats track between races and as needed for workout sessions.
• Operates water truck to add water to the main track in the afternoon and in-between races
• Performs preventative maintenance such as changing oil, replacing belts, etc. Performs minor corrective maintenance on equipment, such as trucks, tractors, track equipment, etc. to repair equipment.
• Mow infields and surrounding track areas
• Operates track equipment such as loaders, lift trucks, and snow plows.
• Repairs and installs track rail
• Rake and shovel material from track rails
• Uses various hand tools

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Experience driving a tractor, truck, grader, and operating a front end loader and other heavy equipment is needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Drivers license and a Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License. Provided by Keeneland upon hire.
