TITLE : Production Engineer / Spring and Metal Stamping Engineer
Role : Production Engineer

About the Position
Provide management with estimated production costs of the most efficient use of machinery, raw material and labor for manufacturing of customer components.
Design and / or review component designs and engineering drawings based on customer’s requirements and specifications. Communicate customer manufacturing requirements clearly to the production team.
Specific Duties
Cost Estimating
1. Review customer provided specifications / engineering drawings.
2. Review machine and production specifications with production staff to evaluate feasibility and optimize manufacturability of engineering drawings / layouts.
3. Suggest modifications to improve design feasibility and increase cost efficiency, as well as value-added services.
4. Coordinate with department supervisors to establish material use, most efficient manufacturing method, estimated set-up times, operating speed, and any manual labor involved.
5. Coordinate with machine operators to determine the most adequate tools and material needs. Conduct outsourcing for special materials, as well as secondary processes or services (e.
g. plating / coating, heat treatment, tooling manufacture, etc.).
6. Create bill of materials (BOM) & bill of operations (BOO) and quotations utilizing M1 MRP system. Summarize cost and production breakdown whenever applicable to simplify order entry and production control.
Component and Process Design
1. Review and approval of customer designs and tolerances with the use of dedicated software by checking resulting stresses and overall dimensional parameters.
2. Prepare, review and assign dimensions and tolerances and generate engineering drawings for in-house machine tooling using Fusion360.
3. Approve customer engineering drawings for release to production.
4. Create and approve inspection documentation (i.e. Inspection Plans, In-process Inspection Records and Inspection Reports).
Reporting / Documenting
1. Maintain records of drawings and engineering-related documents according to requirements of quality standards ISO 9001 : 2015, AS 9100, and ITAR
2. Maintain part information, production requirements, and production notes within M1 MRP system (ECI Solutions).

Education Required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent job experience
Experience Preferred
1+ years of engineering experience this may include involvement in student / academic projects. Previous experience in metal fabrication industry is a plus.
Work hours
100% On-site, 7 : 00 am to 5 : 30 pm Monday through Thursday
