SALARY : $2,541 per month (Includes generous benefits package)

HOURS : 40 hours per week

Monday 9 : 00AM-6 : 00PM; Tuesday 11 : 00AM-8 : 00PM;Wednesday 9 : 00AM-6 : 00PM; Thursday 9 : 00AM-6 : 00PM; Friday 9 : 00AM-6 : 00PM

One Saturday a month 9 : 30 AM-4 : 00 PMrotation

(Note : Must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes, may be asked to work othertimes as needed).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with adult age group. Must complete pre-employment testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Provides superior customer service at allpoints of service, assisting patrons of all ages with information requests,reader’s advisory questions, computer and digital device help, maker services,and assistance using library equipment
  • Performs circulation duties includingcheck out, check in, and processing of new materials
  • Plans, promotes and presents creativeprograms for adults, including special events and summer reading activities
  • Prepares deposits and program contracts,requests purchase orders and tracks program statistics
  • Actively engages the public duringcommunity outreach at special events
  • Responsible for maintaining attractiveand functional spaces for adults throughout the building
  • Participates in regular Adult ServicesCommittee meetings and online discussions
  • Attends regular training related to adultservices and other library work
  • Supports supervisor directives andassumes responsibility of building and staff in supervisor’s absence

    • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :

  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Comfortableand proficient using technology, including digital devices
  • Excellentinterpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills
  • Creative,flexible and organized with good time management skills and attention to detail
  • Abilityto prioritize tasks, take direction and work independently or in a teamenvironment
  • Experienceworking with library programming with strong knowledge of reading materials foradults
  • Knowledgeof popular books, movies & television, pop culture and current events
  • Driver’slicense valid in the State of South Carolina with the ability to drive to otherlibraries or community outreach
