GRADUATE CLINICAL PLACEMENT COORDINATOR

Student Services Professional III

Salary Range : $5025 - $7159 / Monthly

Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 800 . to 5 : 00 .; exempt classification.

Essential Functions : The incumbent serves as the Graduate Clinical Placement Coordinator (GCPC) for the graduate programs in Nursing that include the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program and five Post-Master's Nursing certificate programs (four nurse practitioner (NP) options and nursing education).

  • The GCPC performs complex student services professional work assuring compliance with University, California Board of Registered Nursing and national accreditation standards that includes : identifying, analyzing, overseeing and developing new clinical partnerships throughout Southern California;
  • fostering and maintaining existing clinical partnerships; effectively outreaching to health care agencies and individuals to negotiate clinical placements;

assessing student needs by effective advisement; and aligning students with the clinical partnerships. The GCPC is responsible for accuracy and currency of clinical contracts / affiliation agreements for the graduate programs, ascertains orientation and health clearance needs of students, and maintains clinical site databases, and updates as needed.

The GCPC prepares all graduate clinical placement documentation required for state and national accreditations.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field : experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.

Must be computer literate and be proficient in standard word processing and database software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and have an understanding of standard office procedures.

Effective high level interpersonal communication skills are essential to work with faculty, students; School of Nursing Administration Leadership team, program coordinators, University personnel and external health agencies.

The candidate must possess excellent organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate by phone and email.

  • Must have the ability to : plan, organize, and prioritize work; develop and maintain database systems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • exercise tact, courtesy, alertness and good judgement when responding to others; muti-task, complete assignments in a timely fashion;

and work under pressure. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and / or ability in working in a multicultural / multiethnic environment.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.

Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications : Master’s degree from an accredited university. Previous experience working on a college campus.

Knowledge of CSU policies and procedures and general knowledge of nursing education.
