Director, Business Analytics and Insights is a critical leadership role with responsibility to proactively uncover quantitative and qualitative insights, explore business opportunities, and drive meaningful actions.

This leader will be instrumental to deliver incremental revenue and / or reduce cost for the organization and enable better experience for the customers.

We expect this individual can tell a data driven cohesive story and guide Companion Animal and Equine Business Unit (CABU) leaders with strategic perspectives to make informed strategic and operational decisions.

This role will provide direction and thought leadership to a team of 4 committed analysts so that they can derive actionable insights and provide business impacting recommendations for different projects.

Goal of this leadership position is to help the organization leverage data to further reveal the value of our innovations and drive efficiencies across the Profit and Loss (P&L).

This role will serve as an analytics leader who leverages quantitative reporting and meaningful insight from data to make better business decisions.

This individual will be playing a vital role and collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, sales, strategic account, channel management, commercial operations, and IT teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts via feedback and ROI analysis.

Critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills to influence without authority and driving decisions in a fast-paced business environment are critical skills in this role.

  • Converge the multiple facts during an analysis process into high level points and communicate them as cohesive, compelling and consistent narrative for senior leadership.
  • Define clear business questions and deliver associated analytics approach via cutting through clutter and regularly assessing business performance.
  • Influence without authority by effectively visualizing and presenting data to a wide variety of stakeholders to drive alignments and actions.
  • Analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity to use big data and advanced analytics methods as drivers of marginal growth in business operations.
  • Proactively and continuously seek feedback from CABU and EQ leadership teams and stakeholders on analysis delivered, the process of providing reports, and their effectiveness, key metrics and follow-up analysis needed.
  • Develop and coach talent
  • Coach junior and senior business analysts and brand managers to find rhythm in numbers and how different pieces of analyses are tied together.
  • Lead analytic team and proactively plan, manage, and execute commercial data modeling and scenario analysis for high quality, and timely commercial insights.
  • Successfully hire and onboard new analytic talent about different data processes, architecture and engage them on the key expectations.
  • Business Analysis
  • Oversees complex analyses and model to quantify business opportunities, evaluate macro trend and design new approaches and methodologies to uncover insights.
  • Gather data from multiple sources, normalizes and analyzes those data providing Companion Animal & Equine business with unique data insights and processes to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other business functions with data collection methods and centralization of data as well as extending current data sources with Third party data vendors.
  • Use Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence drive omnichannel effectiveness for marketing programs and sales promotions.
  • Develop, track and analyze key performance indicators across different departments at BU level.
  • Provide ongoing business / operational metrics, developing predictive forecasting models, calculating business financial analytics, and designing data needs for future business analytics.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure alignment between business needs and analytic recommendations.
  • Provide Business leads with operational metrics across multiple platforms / solutions and with trending and possible efficiencies.
  • Plan and coordinate multiple projects on tight timeline to support executive stakeholders.

    • Possess strategic planning, communication and presentation skills who attentively listens to diverse point of view and influences, and be proficient in data management.
    • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products : Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Advanced Excel skills to develop models for predictive analytics from different data sources.
    • Experience with data visualization tool and statistical modeling.
    • Proficiency in using query languages and statistical programming.
    • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
    • Experience with data science and big data toolkits.

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • Master’s degree in Marketing, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics or Business Administration (MBA).
    • 5 years of work experience with data analysis and marketing intelligence to identify trends extract relevant insights and making strategic recommendations.
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts collaboratively with team and peers across organization preferred.
    • Preferred Animal Health experience.
