Location : Forest Park, IL Area
Position Type : Full-Time
Hours : Monday-Friday, 7 : 50 AM - 3 : 10 PM
Contract Length : Full School Year
Position Overview :
The Special Education Teacher will work in a co-taught kindergarten classroom alongside a general education teacher. This collaborative role is essential in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed in a nurturing and engaging classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the general education teacher to design and implement effective instructional strategies and lesson plans that acmodate all students.
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support for students with special needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and interventions as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- municate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Valid Illinois Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a co-teaching setting.
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
