The Head of Biomarker Science, Center of Innovation, Danaher Diagnostics, will serve as a scientifically astute technical operations leader, with a primary focus on advancing biomarker innovation at Danaher Diagnostics’ Center of Innovation (COI).

This role will take an end-to-end approach of integrating rapid discovery of clinically relevant disease / biological biomarkers in disease areas of interest into actionable diagnostics for physicians and patients on Danaher Diagnostics’ medical devices.

This position is part of the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Office and will be on site at our location in Vista, Califor.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide technical operations leadership for biomarker innovation through diagnostic development in Danaher COIs through :

• Technology and regulated product development at COI labs including oversight of analytical, clinical validation and regulatory submission efforts (in partnership with Danaher Diagnostics’ OpCos and partner CLIA lab(s)).
• Lead implementation and execution of biomarker collaborations between pharma, biotech, academic institutions and the COI(s), to gain access to novel translational biomarkers and establish clinical utility on Danaher medical devices
• Provide technical leadership for training / commercialization lab assay transfers.
• Partner with Diagnostics teams on scientific communications and publications / webinars
• Establish governance, and Operational oversight of COI laboratories.
• Establishment of appropriate data transfer and management tools in collaboration with data and digital teams at COI.
• Develop KPIs and success criteria for deliverables at COI

The essential requirements of the job include :

• Ph.D. or equivalent in life sciences / biomedical field
• 20 years’ experience in translational sciences / diagnostics development & precision medicine
• 15 years’ experience in technical &operational leadership in GXP regulations, quality, lab operations, clinical trials, data and digital and project management
• Strong track records of developing partnerships and alliances across pharma / diagnostic / lab industries with previously held customer facing roles.
• Technical platform & R&D expert in key biomarker technologies such as genomics, digital pathology, cell based and immunoassay.

It would be a plus if you also possess / have previous experience in :

Experience with biopharma drug development.

The salary range for this role is around $300K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
