Position Summary :

The Technical Quoting Specialist is responsible for the estimating of repairs on commercial HVAC / R equipment, including the estimating of labor and materials.

This position will work with manufacturers and suppliers on parts information, ordering and tracking. As need, the Technical Quoting Specialist will help the customer understand the need for the repairs and / or replacement of their equipment.

Responsibilities

• Direct communication with field HVAC / R Technicians to understand the scope of work.
• Work with various manufactures and suppliers to obtain equipment and / or parts pricing and availability.
• Will require visits to a jobsite when necessary to gather information for estimates.
• Responsible for managing inventory of parts and materials for repairs, installs and truck stock.
• Prepare detailed quote for the customer based on estimating labor hours based on a qualified labor matrix and / or industry standard.
• Communicate with the customer extenuating circumstances on quotes that are out of the norm.
• Participate in turn over meetings with operations.
• Turn around quotes in 24-48 hours.
• Follow up with customers on open quotes.
• Work with customers third party systems to obtain quote approval.
• Procure parts and equipment as needed, ensuring delivery to the appropriate location.
• Confirm the parts have been received and that the Branch Manager and / or Service Coordinator have been notified.
• Be a technical resource for the customer.
• Ability to submit quotes for $ 20k without additional approval.

Qualifications

• At least a High school degree or GED.
• 5+ years hands on HVAC experience with a great technical understanding of different types of HVAC / R equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High sense of responsibility and commitment to a job well done required
• Must be able to multi-task in high stress situations.
• Must be proficient in MS Office, Outlook and have basic excel knowledge.
• Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while paying strict attention to details and meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with technicians, customers and vendors.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to understand customer concerns and translate that into business solutions the business can offer
• Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive attendance record.
