Harborview Medical Center Social Work has an outstanding opportunity for a Social Work Supervisor for the Foster Care Assessment Program with the Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center (HATC). .

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Foster Care Assessment Program (FCAP) Social Worker Supervisor provides statewide program coordination and supervision of the FCAP team.

The primary responsibilities of the FCAP include :

  • Assessing the health, safety, and well-being of children in out-of-home care and ensuring that their needs have been met
  • Identifying and helping remove obstacles to permanency planning.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and communicate program policies and procedures governing the delivery of FCAP services.
  • Provide clinical and program consultation, management oversight, and monitoring of program outcomes to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the Washington State DCYF standards and contract.
  • Ensure that referrals are received, processed, and completed within the period of established due dates.
  • Report to state funders and DCYF administrators, as needed, on program outcomes and any barriers to achieving outcomes.
  • Facilitate periodic Review Team / Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and communicates with consultants regarding program needs.
  • In collaboration with the HATC Assistant Director, negotiate program changes, develops budgets, and regularly monitor the degree to which contractual requirements are met and delivered in accordance with DCYF standards.
  • Implement procedures to ensure the accurate and timely collection of required program data and metrics. Assist in the analysis and reporting of program data.
  • Provide supervision to FCAP personnel by evaluating performance and responding to performance issues in accordance with HMC employee standards.
  • Perform FCAP program-specific social worker duties as needed, including completing consultations, assessments and providing follow-up.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to addressing systemic oppression in serving diverse populations. Actively engages in agency-wide Diversity, Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion practices and strives for racially equitable outcome.

Strong candidates will have a minimum 4 years of experience in child welfare or a related field. Experience in presenting and / or training on child welfare-related topics is desired, as well as the demonstrated ability to gather information for the purpose of providing a sophisticated written analysis of complex permanency dilemmas.

Experience supervising and / or managing a team of employees is a plus. Candidates must have the demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative work with DCYF and other community professionals / agencies, and an understanding of foster care and permanency planning standards in the child welfare system.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND four years of full-time professional social work experience.

Two years of this experience must have been in a health care setting OR equivalent education / experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS :

Within 90 days of hire must hold one of the following credentials issued by the state of Washington :

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
