StaffMED Health Partners is collaborating with a rapidly growing one-of-a-kind Neuroscience Institute in the Chicagoland area, where their singular goal is to provide world-class neurosciences care through an innovative, personalized approach for patients in Chicagoland and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity for a full-time provider to join a busy and growing independent physician-run group consisting of Neurosurgeons, ENT’s, Neuro-oncologists and Neurologists establishing a state-of-the-art neuroscience program.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Skills / Responsibilities :
- Routine diagnostic, therapeutic and invasive procedures (where clinically relevant)
- Prepares and records patient history and physical examinations. Assists with pre-treatment work up for patients and explain procedures to patients.
- Handle inpatient and outpatient care. Patient evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic measures for inpatient and outpatient management of patients referred to radiation oncology to achieve optimal patient outcomes with strong collaboration with physicians and healthcare team.
- Participate and collaborate in multidisciplinary discussions on patient care with the entire oncology team including medical and surgical oncologists.
- Follow patients on treatment for radiation therapy, evaluate and manage symptoms due to treatment.
- Attend to patients on the treatment machine, place catheters or other devices as needed.
- Participate in post-treatment discharge summaries, follow up care and write orders for appropriate medical care.
- Acts as assistant in the procedure room and operating room for brachytherapy (both high dose rate and low dose rate) and minor surgical procedures.
Assist in the management of post implant patients.
- Serve as expert clinician and patient advocate within specialty. Provide direct patient care to include comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosing, planning, and treatment with both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic methods.
- Collaborate with other physicians (like the primary care physician) and healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.

Practice Highlights / Qualifications :
- Board Certified NP / PA, with active license and prescriptive authority in the State of IL required
- Newly Opened Spine and Pain Center
- As a part of a growing, multidisciplinary Radiation Oncology team, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP Physician Assistant / PA or Nurse Practitioner / NP) will collaborate with physicians and other APPs to direct medical care.
The APP will serve as a specialty area expert and consultant to staff, patients, families, and operational team in Radiation Oncology.
Functions as an APP within their specialty area, as well as educator, consultant and researcher for patients, families and staff.
The 509-bed campus is a comprehensive stroke center and represents one of the largest facilities in northern suburbs of Chicago and the largest campus within the Health System.
The newly opened Spine and Pain Center on its Arlington Heights campus as part of a plan with the Neurological Institute to transform from a community hospital to a one-of-a-kind global Neurosciences destination.
The Neurosciences Institute will grow to integrate and house a full suite of 43 physicians and 174 providers with state-of-the-art ORs equipped with the latest in innovative navigation technology.
