Job Responsibilities
- Plan and organize assigned recreation activities in the areas of sports, fitness, instructional classes, or recreation programs, events, and activities
- Recruit, train, schedule, and oversee a variety of personnel and volunteers
- Promote recreational programs, prepare class and schedule information, and market using brochures, social media, etc.;
assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive and consistent marketing plan for recreational offerings
- Observe and monitor the quality of programs, events, and classes
- Prepare and control equipment inventory and stock deliveries
- Order, inspect, and maintain recreation equipment and materials
- Maintain records and develop reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness; prepare reports as required
- Oversee and schedule usage of assigned facilities; provide information and assistance to users of facilities; explain policies, rules, and regulations of facility use;
monitor and inspect assigned facilities after use
Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public; provide information regarding assigned recreational program area;
analyze clients’ inquiries and help determine steps necessary to resolve issues
- Enter program participants’ attendance into Salesforce
- Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops
Qualifications
Required
- Over 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. (you can see the requirements here)
- Pass a background check to work with vulnerable populations
Preferred :
- Interest in recreational activities and planning
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other digital databases
- Knowledgeable of social media platforms
Physical Demands & Accessibility
- Must pass a State of Tennessee childcare physical, including :
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Agility to move quickly to keep pace with young children
- Stamina to remain alert and energetic for 8+ hours
