Maintenance Technician

Mancan is working with a company in Dundee seeking a maintenance technician. Hours are Monday-Friday 5 : 30 am - 4 pm. Pay is based upon experience, $26-$31 / hour.

This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate based upon attitude, attendance, and performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial mechanical equipment and be proficient in troubleshooting and repairing various types of machinery.

Responsibilities :

• Utilize general understanding of industrial mechanical equipment to troubleshoot and repair a variety of machinery.
• Weld (Mig, Arc) and fabricate as needed for repairs and modifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics, including the ability to work with hydraulic and mechanical presses.
• Assist in equipment inspections to identify defects, misalignment, wear, and other issues.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, erect, move, install, adjust, maintain, and lubricate mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Aid in the building or repairing of jigs, fixtures, and tools of various types, sizes, and shapes.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts using press, sliding, and running fits.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to provided PM schedules and document completed PMs in the computer system.
• Adhere to all facility safety rules, including proper utilization of PPE, Lockout / Tagout procedures, Confined Space Entry protocols, burn permits, roof permits, etc.

Qualifications :

• Ability to read and interpret schematics / drawings for fabrication, layout, and modification purposes.
• Proficiency in operating a variety of tools, including drill press, pipe threading machine, power saws, burning and welding equipment, hydraulic presses, bending rolls, punch presses, shears, and other handheld power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing technical devices and processes.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and emerging technologies.
• 2-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Possession of certifications in regulated trades such as welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
• Possession of a valid forklift license, with willingness to be trained to operate scissor lifts and / or aerial lifts.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
