Job Summary

The manufacturing engineer plans and performs tasks required for engineered part development and support. The manufacturing engineer is responsible for estimating and quality control, material, and labor estimates via reviewing customer print, determining appropriate manufacturing processes, estimating set-up and process times, and creating the necessary process documentation to complete the part transfer among other responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Ability to apply manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Prepare, edit, and reproduce engineering documentation (Engineering Masters, CAD, Work Instructions).
  • Work / collaborate with outside vendors and customers.
  • Identify, analyze, and implement solutions to production issues.
  • Involved in quote process from request for quote to detailed proposal development.
  • Active participant in a project development team from concept to production.

Skills & Abilities :

  • Blueprint reading and GD&T understanding.
  • Computer skills with strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid works knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of tooling and fabrication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to easily integrate and operate in a team environment.
  • Strong technical math skills.
  • Proven record with process development
  • Goal-setting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn : PFMEA, IQ, OQ, CP and Process Flows.

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related required.
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience with metal forming manufacturing and design.
  • ERP experience (Visual) preferred.
  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
