Job Description

Purpose and Scope :

The Traffic Control Lead is responsible for working alongside their team in the performance of traffic control activities.

Responsibilities :

• Utilizes company provided tools and equipment, which may include rented equipment.
• Works alongside the crew(s) and leads by example.
• Ensures the safety of crew members.
• Retains knowledge of and adheres to both OSHA guidelines and company safety policies and procedures.
• Reviews productivity of crew members.
• Ensures completion of initial safety and hazard assessments.
• Participates in safety / incident investigations.
• Promotes, supports and facilitates teamwork and harmony by fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude.
• Completes on-site assessment to ensure that the job is ready to commence and addresses any concerns.
• All other duties as required.
• Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing.
• Applies good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Organizes and delegates work.
• Very reliable and dependable.
• Acts as a role model and leads by example.
• Is a team player.

Job Competency / Qualifications

• Current Driver's License as well as clean driving record.
• High School graduate or equivalent, required; or 6-12 months of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified ATSSA TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor), strongly preferred.
• Completed OSHA 30 course, strongly preferred.
• 1-2 Years of experience involving traffic control.
• Ensure compliance with applying regulations, referencing the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices).
