What we're looking for :

Nexamp is seeking to hire a Manager, Project Engineering to join our Project Engineering team. You will perform engineering and project support tasks for commercial, DG, and utility-scale photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems.

The Project Engineering team is at the center of the design and engineering activities for Nexamp projects, ensuring that the work of the different disciplines are tightly coordinated, and driving system-level optimization of project economics.

We are accepting candidates across our offices of Boston, Chicago, or Washington DC where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Director, Project Engineering.

What you'll do :

Lead the Project Engineering Team's efforts at a regional level, ensuring that the design and engineering work for all projects within the assigned region are completed on time and on budget.

Drive a cross-discipline approach to system-level optimization, keeping all aspects of project design and engineering coordinated to achieve optimized project economics.

  • Manage a team of project engineers
  • Provide technical support to Nexamp development, engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M departments for the entire life cycle of projects, including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases
  • Oversee, review, and approve drawings sets and energy models for development, permitting, construction, and record design phases for solar power plants utilizing AutoCAD, PVCase, Helioscope and PVSYST software
  • Develop and manage relationships with a network of vendors and engineering consultants for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases
  • Perform value engineering to optimize project economic and technical profile
  • Support Director, Project Engineering in training and mentoring of engineering department personnel, development of design standards and SOPs, and development of design drawing libraries
  • Drive new product research and implementation
  • Determine innovative advancements to standard process
  • Support utility interconnection and permitting application processes
  • Perform site visits for project assessment and feasibility
  • Additional duties as assigned and / or directed

What you'll bring :

  • 4+ years of solar design engineering experience, with a focus on projects larger than 2MWac preferred
  • 1+ years of management experience preferred
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent educational / certification background
  • AutoCAD & PVSYST software proficiency
  • EIT preferred
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard design codes such as National Electric Code, International Building Code, International Fire Code and other standards relevant to the industry
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following technical fields : electrical engineering; medium voltage distribution and protection systems;

civil engineering; structural engineering; communications and control systems; civil engineering preferred

  • Experience with construction projects, with an understanding of typical construction means and methods preferred
  • Experience with utility interconnection processes for distributed generation systems preferred
  • Experience interfacing with AHJs, building inspectors, and plan checkers during the permitting process of construction projects preferred

Compensation :

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $130,000 - $150,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).

Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
