Chef / Brands Manager
IL Rock Island Position Requirements Responsible for building customer loyalty by becoming a trusted advisor in their business.
Responsible for employee sales training and development of promotion and merchandising programs. Responsible for exclusive brand sales, customer training, promotions, participation in food shows, brand product selection, customer events and brand profitability.
The position will perform the following major functional responsibilities :
- Conducts and coordinates in-house Test Kitchen visits with customers including menu development, product cuttings, and culinary training.
- Travels to customer locations to assess operational effectiveness and evaluate food and / or labor cost controls.
- Partners with customers by developing new ideas, performing menu redesign, employee training and development of promotion and merchandising programs.
- Successfully implements brand marketing programs as measured by favorable company financial performance. Attains targeted sales as determined by business goals.
- Conducts in-house training seminars for sales representatives and sales management. Provides training for customers as needed.
- Performs competitive brand product cuttings and analysis.
- Implements and manages an effective broker / manufacturer work with and sampling process around exclusive brands.
- Guides local supplier and broker support in proper communication of brands. Gathers brands feedback from sales and operations to communicate to PFG corporate office.
- Identifies potential significant users of brand items and conducts presentations to the customers.
- Works with sales, marketing and purchasing to maintain proper inventory of products while focusing efforts to grow branded sales.
Communicates quality issues and / or competitive product information.
- Cooks for special Performance Foodservice or customer events.
- Manages departmental budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Required Qualifications : High School Diploma or Equivalent
5+ years culinary arts, hotel / restaurant management, and / or foodservice experience
Must be based near Rock Island, IL with the ability to travel 50-60% of the time Preferred Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel / Restaurant Management or related area
3+ years foodservice distribution or brokerage experience
3+ years experience in marketing, communications, and project management experience within the foodservice industry
