SUMMARY

Vari is looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our data practice within our Technology Team. In this role, you will lead the Data Engineering team to help drive the transformation of our internal data platform.

You will partner with other internal stakeholders to refine and execute against our data strategy, vision, and roadmap to deliver the business insights and analytics required to scale our business.

We are looking for someone who is highly skilled in data management and analytics, possesses strong leadership capabilities, and excels in collaborating with cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the data engineering team to design, develop, and support high-quality data, analytics, and reporting solutions.
  • Define and implement standards for data warehouse, analytics, and ETL systems.
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to develop and then operationalize our data vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Oversee and prioritize the team's workload, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members to improve their technical skills and support their professional growth.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and techniques in data engineering and propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Champion continuous process improvement, performance management, and metrics-driven results.

HOW YOU’LL GET THERE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant data management consulting or industry experience (master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, data modeling, data standards)
  • Experience with Azure, Salesforce, or SAP solutions would be plus
  • Minimum 5 Years Microsoft SQL experience preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of data governance and data profiling concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working in Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) development environments.
  • Experience working for a retail company with both a B2B and B2C business is a plus.
