Summary : The Greer Group is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Administrative Assistant for our healthcare client in Henderson, NC.
Job Description :
- The Anatomic Pathology Administrative Assistant is responsible for secretarial functions, providing support to facilitate smooth operation of assigned locations.
- Provides support to the Pathologist, Medical Director, and Leadership Team.
- Ensures that specimens are properly collected and identified prior to transport.
- Resolves most specimen problems independently in a timely manner and documents appropriately.
- Follows protocols when packaging for transport or processing specimens.
- Completes necessary computer entries with minimal errors.
- Questions test orders that appear to be inappropriate by asking nursing or physician office staff for clarification.
- Performs routine and timely maintenance of cryostats at facilities.
- Schedules cryostat visits when indicated and at times that minimally interrupt routine activities.
- Ensures correct and in date stains and supplies are available for frozen sections.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining PAR levels of supplies so as to never run out or need emergency deliveries.
- Demonstrates flexibility and works cooperatively with supervisory staff and coworkers to help ensure smooth transitions to new work models and / or integration of new procedures, instrumentation, workspace, etc.
- Cooperative and flexible with schedule and shift changes.
- Is able to stay late when needed and works with supervisor to schedule time off at optimal times when possible.
