Responsibilities
Our client is looking for multiple Principal DevOps Engineers to join their team! As a Principal DevOps Engineer and Subject Matter Expert within our client's team, you represent the apex of expertise and leadership in DevOps practices.
With over fifteen years of experience, you will lead groundbreaking projects aimed at revolutionizing their IT infrastructure and software delivery processes.
Your mastery in automating software build, testing, and deployment, as well as configuration and resource management, will set new standards for efficiency and reliability.
You will direct the strategic implementation of IaC using the most advanced tools available, and your insights will be crucial in developing complex data queries, refining system documentation, and conducting in-depth analyses of system performance.
Your expertise will also guide the establishment of a comprehensive monitoring ecosystem, ensuring optimal system health and performance.

- Automate software build, testing, and deployment with the use of tools such as Git, Gitlab CI / CD, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Cypress, etc.
- Automate the configuration and management of resources using modern tooling such as Saltstack, Ansible, Puppet, etc.
- Automate the provisioning of infrastructure using Infrastructure As Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
- Write or review software and system documentation, propose and implement recommendations for improving documentation
- Analyze system performance standards, flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
- Configure logging, system, and performance monitoring software with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, etc.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience with a Bachelors degree in a technical field of study is required. An additional 5+ years of equivalent practical experience may be substituted for a degree
- Experience scripting in languages such as Python, bash, PowerShell, PERL, etc.
- Experience with distributed scalable Big Data Storage (NoSQL) such as Elasticsearch, Hbase, Cloudbase / Accumulo, Big Table, etc.
- Experience with container orchestration and automation such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.
Education / Certification Requirements
A Bachelors degree in a technical field of study is required for this position. An additional 5+ years of equivalent practical experience may be substituted for a degree
Clearance Requirements
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;
an active TS / SCI w / FS Poly clearance is required. Please note that the FS Poly currently needs to be held by the NSA or within the past two years.
