- Job Title : Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Specialty : Speech Therapy Job Duration : 6 Months Shift : 8 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : 1-2 years in an acute or clinical setting, preferred License : Current Speech Pathology License, required Certifications : Current BLS Certification, required;
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred Must-Have : Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution;
Passed the National Praxis exam Job Description : - Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individual treatment plans. - Liaise with patients, families, and healthcare professionals while administering therapy.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. - Conduct screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
- Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and their causes. - Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements. - Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures while maintaining confidentiality as per HIPAA and company policy.
- Possess strong analytical ability for evaluating information and making sound decisions. - Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Maintain professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others. - Proficient in computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech.
