Summary & Responsibilities :
- The Purchasing Intern will gain exposure and experience in :
- First-hand experience of the work cycle associated with the procurement of goods and services
- Experience the critical interfaces of Procurement with the other vital functions in the business enterprise
- Participate in the challenging and dynamic aspects of interactions with a large, global, industrial based supply base
- Apply critical thinking skills applied to prioritized projects and programs
- Experience first-hand the opportunity to gather relevant data, establish a project plan, prepare a proposal, seek approval and execute a plan
- Gain exposure to industry standards and best practices for manufacturing-based processes and products
- Meeting a diverse group of dedicated professionals and peers who are driven by continuous learning, improving the products and processes, and who are inspired to grow in new markets with innovative products
- Completing challenging and meaningful projects in a face paced environment
- Functioning as a critical liaison between manufacturing team, the supply base, and the company’s internal organization
- Analyzing, preparing, and reporting on business-critical information to the broader Procurement team
- Offer valuable continuous improvement recommendations on various technical and business-based processes within Procurement
Experience & Qualifications :
- Education Requirement : College undergraduate or graduate status with 1-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursuing an academic field of study related to Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Management.
- Due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Intern must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Competencies & Behaviors :
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Analytical ability to solve complex problems.
