Position Summary :
The Senior Network Administrator is a senior-level position responsible for the advanced installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our clients' network systems.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor other IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and manage advanced network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation.
- Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades, including security updates and patches.
- Configure and manage advanced network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to design and implement network solutions for complex projects and initiatives.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior network administrators and other IT staff.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
- Manage and resolve network-related issues through a ticketing system.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in network administration.
- Demonstrate a strong drive to achieve advanced professional certifications to further develop expertise and career growth.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network administration.
- Strong knowledge of advanced network protocols, including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Extensive experience with network hardware such as Cisco, SonicWall, Aruba, or similar.
- Proficiency in advanced network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Solid understanding of advanced network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant advanced certifications such as CCNP, SonicWALL Network Security Professional (SNSP), or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience working with ticketing systems for issue tracking and resolution.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Personable and passionate about networking and customer service.
