Trainer & QC Monitor
- Company representative and subject matter expert for contract training compliance requirements and responsible for overall training quality and standards following the SOW.
- Provides instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing a prescribed curriculum.
- Serves as the contract’s National Weapons Detection Training Program Instructor (NWDTPI) and conducts initial and continuous on-the-job (OJT) training.
- Maintain training files and updated curriculum as needed.
- Ensure that training material, equipment, and programs are current, accurate, and effective for FPS / PSO standards.
- Teaches customized training courses.
- Create testing and evaluation processes.
- Provide classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Explain and demonstrate the use of security-related tools and equipment.
- Evaluate and maintain students' overall safety and the training environment's organization.
- Ensures accountability and inventory for all training equipment.
- Identifies training requirements to promptly maintain certifications and company standards and completes all required continuing education and refresher training programs.
- Completes any additional training and / or certifications required by the government.
- Ability to plan, manage time, and multitask effectively.
- Conducts personnel and post inspections to ensure compliance and reports deficiencies to the Contract Manager.
- Inform BTI management of any compliance issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a teaching environment
- Three (3) years of practical experience in Law Enforcement and / or Security is required.
- Must pass a background investigation, physical, drug, and psychological screening, and have no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent presentation skills, proficient attention to detail, ability to manage time, and multiple priorities to completion.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Physical Demands and Environment
- Work is based in a busy training environment and is subject to frequent interruptions. In addition to working in a classroom setting, frequent work outside in inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity, is required.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards.
- The candidate must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 100 lbs. The candidate must also be able to stand for long periods in all weather conditions.
- Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling. It also requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Trainer and Quality Control Monitor will identify training needs for all BTI officers and provide a one-month-in-advance monthly training schedule to the PSOs and COR by the 10th day of each month.
They are responsible for scheduling and coordinating classrooms, ranges, instructors, and resources to support initial, annual, and refresher training requirements.
Additionally, they will monitor the quality of PSOs by conducting routine personnel and post-inspections. They must utilize available resources to increase officer proficiency and oversee the professional development of security personnel.
The Trainer and Quality Control Monitor shall notify the COR and PSOs of any changes to previously scheduled training and qualifications sessions at least three (3) calendar days before the training date.
Training should be scheduled to the maximum extent possible during normal business hours.
