PROJECT MANAGER (INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN)

The Project Manager (Instructional Design) shall be primarily responsible for leading the design and development of instructional materials and learning solutions for our Blackboard / Blackboard Ultra.

This role combines instructional design expertise with project management skills to ensure that learning programs are effectively developed, implemented, and evaluated.

This position shall report directly to the Information Management & Technology manager.

Essential Functions :

• Develop engaging and effective instructional materials including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, assessments, and job aids.
• Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to create learning experiences that meet specified learning objectives and performance outcomes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure relevance.
• Lead and manage instructional design projects from conception to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Create and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of learning solutions with organizational goals.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of instructional materials to ensure high-quality standards and adherence to design principles.
• Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the learning materials based on learner and stakeholder feedback.
• Provide training and support to facilitators and end-users as needed.
• Develop and deliver train-the-trainer sessions and user guides.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in instructional design and project management.
• Implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of learning programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an instructional designer, preferably with a focus on specific area or industry .
• Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in instructional design tools and software such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.

Minimum Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an instructional designer, preferably with a focus on specific area or industry .
• Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
• At least 2-3 years of experience working with networking equipment specifically, including maintenance and upgrades, education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
