As a Tool Crib Assistant , you will have the opportunity to support our tool crib operations within our Shipping & Receiving department.
The Tool Crib Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the tool room is properly stocked and that tool orders are accurately prepared, providing our employees with the necessary materials to successfully execute projects.
What You Will Do :
- Support the Tool Crib Manager with daily operations and tasks.
- Pick, pull, and pack tool orders to ensure they are ready for pickup.
- Assemble tool orders, labeling with order paperwork, and the name of the individual picking it up.
- Fulfill walk-in orders by gathering requested tools and documenting the name, job number, and items provided on material requisition forms.
- Label received tools with serial numbers for accurate inventory tracking and jobsite allocation.
- Receive tool orders, unload and organize tools, and record serial numbers for system input and tracking.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to unload, load, and move tools within the warehouse and yard.
- Stock and replenish tools in their designated shelving areas within the tool crib.
- Maintain cleanliness of the tool crib by sweeping floors, stocking tools, and organizing tool will call areas to ensure a clean and accessible workspace.
- Serve as a key holder for the Shipping & Receiving department, performing close-down procedures to ensure areas are locked and secure.
- Record inventory of tools to ensure the tool crib is adequately stocked to support projects.
- Inspect returned tools for damages or necessary repairs.
- Report any tool shortages, damages, or repairs needed to the Tool Crib Manager in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and other departments to coordinate tool requests and returns.
- Follow all safety protocols when handling tools and operating equipment, such as forklifts.
- Assist the Shipping & Receiving department with other duties as business requires.
Education, Skills & Experience :
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Warehouse Associate or in a similar role involving the use or organization of hand tools required .
- Minimum of 1 years of experience utilizing a sit-down forklift within a warehouse environment highly preferred.
- Experience pulling, packing, assembling and labeling orders highly preferred.
- Possesses knowledge of basic tools and materials used in construction or similar settings highly preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
- Highly proficient with various office equipment and programs including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, One Note, etc.) required .
- Possesses strong attention to detail and ability to work independently a must .
- Proven experience in inventory control utilizing excel or software highly preferred .
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills required.
- Demonstrates professionalism and the highest level of customer service a must.
Compensation & Company Benefits Include :
This is a full-time non-exempt position. The compensation for this role is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour and is based on experience and skillset.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 : 00am 3 : 30pm. The work schedule / role includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid separate rest breaks.
