Current Vacancy for Immediate Hire : 5 - After School Program Site Coordinator positions for 8 hours / day, 12 months.

This eligibility list will be valid for one year and will be used to fill any future vacancies during the time this list is active.

The After School Program Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within designated school areas that include Academic and Curricular Programs;

Sports, Fitness, and Recreation; The Arts; Character & Leadership Development; Career & Education Development; and Health & Life Skills.

This role also involves planning, developing, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the after school program and enrichment activities, and coordinating program activities related to the school day.

Examples of Duties

Essential Functions :

  • Communicates and responds to inquiries from school personnel, parents, and the community to provide information and assistance related to activities.
  • Collaborates with District personnel regarding budgeting and purchase orders; recommends budget expenditures for program needs.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to gather information and develop site enrichment programs.
  • Identifies and secures program needs (e.g., equipment and instructional materials) for the after school program.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of materials and supplies for the program.
  • Monitors enrollment and attendance to adhere to program policies and guidelines.
  • Organizes and coordinates enrichment programs and activities to strengthen local youth services.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the operation of the site-based after school program.
  • Prepares and maintains reports and documentation to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Promotes student achievement through coordination of the program and leads activities as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison among community agencies, site administrators, and staff to enhance communication and program planning.

Other Functions :

  • For positions with bilingual designations, performs essential functions utilizing bilingual skills as needed.
  • Performs other related job functions and tasks as required to support personnel and ensure effective functioning of the work site.

Employment Standards

Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training, and / or education to demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed above.

Typically, this would be gained through :

  • Education : An Associate degree with a concentration in education or a related area.
  • Experience : Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience working with school-aged children, families, and the community.

Experience in a lead capacity is highly preferred.

Incumbents must meet requirements specified under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Special Qualifications include :

  • Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education OR
  • Obtained an associate’s or higher degree (college level) OR
  • Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.

Supplemental Information

This is a Dual Certification recruitment : Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates.
