As a highly reputable firm in the industry, our team is seeking a senior project accountant to join our team who is looking to support our clientele and subcontractor network.

We focus on commercial construction projects and would like someone with vertical commercial project accounting experience!

Job Details

As our Project Accountant, your main duties will include but are not limited to :

1. Overseeing all financial operations of construction projects from start to finish.

2. Implementing and managing project collections and sales tax reporting processes.

3. Managing Procore invoicing and ensuring all invoices are accurate and timely.

4. Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and on time.

5. Developing and implementing effective project accounting and reporting systems.

6. Preparing financial reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.

7. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to construction accounting.

8. Collaborating with project managers and other key stakeholders to optimize financial performance and strategic positioning.

9. Identifying and managing financial risks and opportunities.

Qualifications :

1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, Masters Degree or CPA is a plus.

2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role in the construction industry.

3. Proficiency in project invoicing (procore experience preferred), project collections, sales tax reporting, and AP / AR oversight.

4. Strong knowledge of project accounting and reporting.

5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

8. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

10. A strong understanding of construction industry regulations and standards.
