Texas Oncology is searching for a Certified Medical Physicist to join our East Texas Physics POD (Longview / Tyler / Palestine).

The Medical Physicist will be actively working with 4 other physicists and 6 dosimetrists in the region. Why work for us?

Equipment within the East Texas POD consists of 6 Varian Linacs, (1-Truebeam, 1-Novalis TX, 3-IX series, and 1 2100-C series).

The region also operates 2 active HDR programs, via Nucletron afterloaders. Planning and verification systems include : Eclipse, BrainLab, VariSeed, Oncentra, Mosaiq, and RadCalc.

With this level of technology there are few special procedures that are not offered. Programs include : SBRT, SRS, HDR, LDR, and radiopharmaceuticals.

Texas Oncology also provides many vendor webinars, its own journal club, and the opportunity to serve on many company-wide physics committees.

The candidate should have a MS or PhD degree in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two to five years’ experience in radiation oncology physics.

The candidate should have a current ABR certification or in the process of obtaining certification (completed part 1) and maintain a valid Texas state license for medical physics as required.

Must be able to stand for 8 hours; lift 40 pound block to shoulder level; have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on computer monitor.
