Communications Specialist

RATIO Design is looking for a smart, intuitive, and talented Communications Specialist to join our expanding Marketing team.

While the position is based in Indianapolis, you will collaborate with staff in all studios (including Chicago, Champaign, Milwaukee, Denver, and Raleigh) and contribute to campaigns at the local, regional, national and international level.

Responsibilities

• Copywriter for various marketing channels (website, social media, blogs, white papers, presentations, email newsletters, print materials).
• Ideation, management, implementation, and analysis of campaigns.
• Write new supporting content for brand messaging and collateral as well as brief project narratives and resume bio narratives.
• Write custom materials for proposals and qualifications packages.
• Support social media presence and the firm’s communications strategy.
• Write news or announcements project news, firm announcements, press release, media advisory, or new hire ads.
• Write project pages and blogs and upload to website. Monitor analytics of website.
• Track and monitor publicity opportunities speaking, content submissions, or specialty awards.
• Conduct background research, competitor research, and data or analytics reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Skilled copywriter for a variety of markets, audiences, and platforms.
• Project management and problem-solving skills.
• An excellent storyteller.
• Understanding of brand positioning, voice, and tone.
• Experience creating content plans and implementing.
• Must have excellent and well-rounded communications skills and professional etiquette.
• Strong attention to detail, able to self-manage, and manage a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft accounts, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and SEO.
• Photography and Adobe Creative Suite are a plus.
• Promote a culture of collaboration and inclusion as a part of the overall firm EDI initiative.
