Position Summary

The faculty and staff of University of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) welcome you to a tradition of excellence in nursing research, education, and clinical practice.

We represent the very best in quality and innovation within an academic environment. Our focus is on building evidence for effective practice and translating that evidence-based knowledge to practice and policy environments with an emphasis in rural health.

We are currently recruiting Temporary Part Time faculty members for CON undergraduate programs with responsibility to teaching new nurses and facilitating their transition into practice.

The primary focus is clinical, didactic and / or laboratory teaching for 2024 and / or 2025 terms.

College of Nursing

The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country.

With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, masters, post-master, and doctoral programs.

Program offerings include the state’s premiere Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs;

master’s and post-master programs across seven concentrations for APRNs, nurse educators, and nurse administrators; and the New Mexico Nurse Education Consortium baccalaureate curriculum.

Our faculty engage in innovative teaching, research and clinical scholarship to understand and address the health care needs among our most vulnerable populations.

The College of Nursing is part of a vibrant HS, which includes New Mexico’s only Level-1 Trauma Center. The HSC provides and exceptional education for more than 1,500 students each year in 21 different health fields.

The HSC is known for innovative research with more than $165 Million in extramural research funding. The HSC has an established Clinical & Translational Science Center that provides extensive opportunities and resources to support collaborative research in a variety of interest areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or graduate degree in nursing
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by State of New Mexico

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Precepting or Teaching experience
