Job Summary
Operates forklift to load and unload totes from chemical fill stations; loading and unloading of flatbed trucks; assist in batch making and quality checking;
operate tote fill stations; general maintenance tasks. Must be able to work outdoors at times and be able to work in hot / cold conditions as weather changes
Job Responsibilities
- Need to ensure proper handling of totes as they load and unload fill stations; will also stage empty totes for later use
- Will be responsible for interacting with driver’s delivery of raw materials, unloading and loading trucks, collecting bills of lading.
- Will assist Production Manager with collection of samples from raw material and finished product and back up Quality Manager with testing as needed.
- Operate fill stations and manual addition of dry ingredients
- Perform basic maintenance and preventative maintenance on valves, pumps, motors, etc.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of processing equipment
- Daily Housekeeping of plant including sweeping, mopping, disposal of trash, etc.
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Adhere to all CEMEX rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Practice 5S throughout plant
Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred; or equivalent
- 1 yr. Production experience required
- 1 yr. Forklift experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Effective communication skills
Working Conditions
- Perform work outside of plant
- Overtime when required per company needs
- Employees will work with dusty dry ingredients, hazardous raw materials, etc.
- Employees will use power tools, hand tools, etc. to complete job tasks
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Heavy Work : Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees / visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and / or pulling of controls
- Must pass DOT physical to include back x-ray, hearing test and drug / alcohol screen
